Pointers from Papa.
It is a strange sensation to leave a place you feel destined to return to.
Your own car and your own house in lovely bodega country...who could ask for anything more.
As always, day 1 in a new country is errand day.
So you should know right off the bat that there is no place on earth like this place.
I'm staying in Cuidad Viejo a/k/a old town as it is alleged to be the closest to the must see sites in the capital and relatively close to the rambla, the Pocitos playa, Plaza de Independcía and Punta Carretas where good dining, shopping and other delights are available.
It was like entering onto the set of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
At the end of my time here, I can say that I took on a whole new level of peace. Despite being a work day, I was filled with gratitude and the days here were filled with smiles and simply put - were just lovely.
There is the Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana side of Rio... It is just as important, if not more so, to visit the favelas (meaning "little farms") in Rio...
